In collaboration with a physician: * Conducts patient interviews and physical evaluations to evaluate and treat new and existing patients. * Orders and/or performs laboratory tests. * Order and/or performs diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures and testing. * Collects and interprets diagnostic data. * Diagnoses medical problems, develops care plans, and prescribes treatments. * Arranges for consultations with or referrals to other medical professional or community services. * Educates patient on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, need for follow-up assessments/treatments, at home medical care, medication and other issues related to medical or health problems. * Utilizing available software, documents patient histories, assessments, interventions, and interactions. * Provides psycho-social and emotional support to patients and care partners. * Recognizes the roles of the interdisciplinary team, patient and family care partners and utilizes them appropriately as resources in planning patient care. * Provides clinical information to the Revenue Cycle Management Department as requested for the purposes of claims and authorizations. * Participates in prescribed research training exercises to develop a proficient understanding of clinical trials.
