Full Job Description
**Job Title:** Adjunct Teaching - Biology - BIO 165 (BYU Online) **Posting End Date:** June 4, 2026 *NOTE: Last day to apply is Wednesday, June 3, 2026, @ 11:59 pm (MST) **Position Start Date:** September 2, 2026 **Required Degree:** B.S. in related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date. **Experience:** Programming experience in Python and familiarity with basic concepts in molecular biology or genomics. **Duties/Expectations:** BIO 165, Introduction to Bioinformatics, is an introductory course for bioinformatics majors and students from a variety of different majors in the Life Sciences. Students learn the basics of the Linux operating system, write simple scripts in Python to manipulate DNA sequence data, basic regular expressions, and receive an overview of how bioinformatics is used in a variety of settings and research areas. In Python, the course covers basic concepts such as lists, loops, dictionaries, and functions. Preference will be given to applicants currently employed in bioinformatics or in advanced degree programs in bioinformatics or a related field.
