What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, Current, active, and unencumbered California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Minimum of four (4) years of direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse, Minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience within the past five (5) years, Recent direct patient care experience within the past five (5) years in the assigned specialty area (e. g. , Med-Surg, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health), American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification, Up-to-date immunization records, Proficiency in educational technology and basic computer applications, Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Nice to Have
Prior teaching or clinical precepting experience, Experience teaching didactic and/or clinical courses in a nursing program, Familiarity with ATI and CourseKey, interpersonal skills and a student-centered teaching philosophy, Faculty who are comfortable teaching across classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical environments are strongly preferred, Candidates with experience in at least two (2) instructional settings (theory, skills lab, or clinical) will be considered
What You'll Do.
Deliver clinical and/or theory instruction using approved course materials
Develop instructional strategies that promote critical thinking and clinical judgment
Evaluate student performance using nursing standards and program competencies
Facilitate integration of theory into patient care practice
Ensure patient safety and compliance with clinical site and university policies
Lead pre- and post-clinical conferences to reinforce learning
Engage students in reflective practice and clinical reasoning
Foster a professional learning environment that promotes accountability
Promote student success through active engagement and instructional flexibility
Maintain accurate and timely records of grades
and student performance
Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice and instructional content
Participate in department meetings and shared governance activities as required
