Must Have
Master’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution., Current Illinois Licensure as R. N., Recent work experience in nursing., Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills., Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence., Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.
Nice to Have
Teaching experience at the collegiate level., Experience at the community college level., Experience in teaching online and/or using course management programs., Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds., English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency., Demonstrated multicultural competence.
What You'll Do.
Teach introductory and advanced classes in nursing practicum.
Participate in course development
and planning activities.
Be willing to teach online and/or blended courses.
Participate in appropriate departmental meetings.
Demonstrate a commitment to teaching and learning.
Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter necessary to the assigned course load and keep informed of current trends in the field of nursing and health care.
Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and weekends) and at clinical and other campus sites as needed.
Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Teach classes in appropriate instructional area.
Participate in annual student and chair/coordinator evaluations.
Comply with departmental curriculum
and other established processes.
Attend classes return college reports
and other requested documentation in a timely effectively communicate with appropriate staff and director.
Comply with all legal and ethical obligations
and other regulatory legislations.
Communicate discrepancies to appropriate officials.
Commit to furthering the mission
and core values of the college at all times.
Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
