Five years of full-time experience in maintaining accounting records or performing auditing work

Experience in UI tax preferred, Experience interpreting the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act, statutes, rules and laws, Experience reviewing the detailed work of Tax Accounts Examiners, Experience in preparing and presenting Tax-related training, Experience in supervision of staff, projects and departments

This position is in Austin and will require in-office presence at 1411 Brazos Street with a Monday – Friday schedule in the Tax Status department. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas. WHO YOU ARE: You have good organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines. You are ready to take the next step to lead a team and implement enhanced wage records per the Senate Bill 1786. You are comfortable leading other projects related to the Unemployment Insurance Tax Department. WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Accounts Examiner V Supervisor performs advanced and/or supervisory (senior-level) accounts examination work. Work involves planning, developing, and recommending techniques and procedures related to EWR, reporting methods, and external partner coordination. Will be overseeing accounts examiners engaged in efforts towards the new system replacement project, EWR initiative, SFTP coordination. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative or independent judgment. YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: -Assist in development, implementation and outreach related to the EWR initiative and other related tax projects. -Supervise a UI Tax team, plan and assign their work, and achieve goals and standards of the Tax Department. -Review and evaluate quality and volume of work produced by assigned personnel to determine accompl
