What You'll Do.
supports Avera’s grant and research portfolio
works closely with Grant Finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting
audit compliance with grant terms and conditions
and effective stewardship of external funding throughout the grant lifecycle—from setup through closeout
supports grant setup in Workday and performs grant-related accounting
and audit readiness activities for Avera
manages more complex grant activity
and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Responsible for performance of assigned financial reporting
and financial audits for Avera and its Entities
works closely with their assigned Finance leadership and other Accountants as necessary to ensure consistent
and timely reporting of financial information
Performs assigned functions necessary to complete the monthly close and reporting process for designated Avera divisions and reviews financial statements to identify potential errors or inconsistencies
Works with appropriate Operational Finance team(s) and their analysts in the resolution of issues before financial statements are finalized
responsibility over complex operating units and month end functions will be expected
Stays current on financial reporting and accounting regulations related to assigned functions
Completes assigned monthly and year-end accounting procedures and reporting including internal financial reporting
external audit preparation
tax return preparation
and any other external and internal reporting
responsibility for complex procedures
and tax related functions will be expected
Performs job responsibilities
objectives and standards of performance for financial reporting
and tax preparation within established policies
and procedures established by Leadership to ensure compliance
Completes assigned routine reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory mandates
Act as a Super User for all assigned financial modules/products in order to direct and/or assist financial reporting team with procedural/process changes within divisions

Actual pay rate dependent upon experience._ $55,640.00 - $83,200.00 **Position Highlights** **Position Details:** This role supports Avera’s grant and research portfolio and works closely with Grant Finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, audit compliance with grant terms and conditions, and effective stewardship of external funding throughout the grant lifecycle—from setup through closeout. **What You Will Do:** The Accountant supports grant setup in Workday and performs grant-related accounting, reconciliations, invoicing, reporting, and audit readiness activities for Avera.
