Accountant

**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Purpose** Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for effectively managing the full cycle accounting process, preparing and analyzing reporting packages and completing reconciliations. **Responsibilities** * Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts. Perform ongoing review investigation and correction to ensure consistency and accuracy * ​Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital. Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts. Investigate and present solutions for any related discrepancies * Perform intercompany consolidation and monthly settlement of intercompany transactions * Monitor compliance with Sysco’s policies, procedures & accounting standards, e.g. SOX, FAMM, etc. * Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports * Maintain fixed assets sub-ledger and reporting and ensure all fixed asset transactions are submitted to the fixed asset system on a timely basis * Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for internal, Corporate office and external reporting. * Act as a subject matter expert for internal departments; provide accurate and timely information and support to the Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting and Corporate Controller * Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to achieve overall operating objectives * Conduct ad hoc projects as required * Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met. * Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor. * Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present. * Perform other duties as assigned. **Skills** * Must have a minimum o
