Accountant

**Location:** 4900 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn Ohio **Job Summary** The role involves reviewing balance sheets and income statements, investigating general ledger variances, participating in month-end close processes, reconciling accounts, managing accruals, acting as liaison between Financial and Servicing Operations, ensuring GAAP compliance, and completing audit requests. **Essential Functions** * Review Balance Sheet and Income Statement for reasonableness. * Research and understand causes of variances within general ledger. * Participate in month-end close process through analysis, review, identification of errors or inconsistencies, corrections where appropriate. * Understand and interpret both manual general ledger entries and subsystem interface entries from various operations groups. * Reconcile or review select general ledger accounts. * Establish, monitor and adjust accruals or amortization entries where appropriate. * Perform research for inquiries concerning recorded transactions. * Act as liaison between Financial Operations and Servicing Operations in interpretation of financial impact of subsystem interfaces. * Complete audit requests. * Develop understanding of applicable technical accounting guidance and review Financial Statements for conformity with GAAP. * Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice * Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key. **Education** * Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience (preferred) **Work Experience** * 1+ years experience in a financial related field.
