Maintain accurate and up to date advising records and student notes.
Engage students through in‑person and virtual outreach.
Refer students to appropriate academic
and wellness resources.
Monitor student progress and identify students who may benefit from intervention or additional support.
Coordinate and support advising
and student success events and campaigns.
Assist with reporting and data analysis related to advising initiatives and special populations.
Use developmental advising strategies to support students’ academic and personal growth.
Collaborate with campus partners on student retention and success initiatives.
Contribute to professional development.
Develop and deliver training for faculty
and advisors on advising tools
Respond to student mental health concerns and refer to appropriate campus resources.
Assist in the training of new staff members and student workers within the academic advising department and serve as a resource.

Assist the Advising Manager in more project centered tasks.

The Academic Advisor III will independently drive engagement and empower students to achieve their academic and career goals. In addition to student advising, this position will assist the Advising Manager in more project centered tasks. Examples of this may be examining coursework progress, monitoring specific enrollment data, or preparing reports for Biology Department Leadership. The selected candidate will play a vital role in maximizing undergraduate student retention by building relationships with students and clarifying procedures and academic requirements.
