Minimum one day per week on-site presence at Nantong Distribution Center, International travel required, primarily within China and APAC region, approximately 30%

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

7+ years of experience across transportation and/or distribution operations, Experience in managing or governing 3PL distribution center operations is required, Excellent English and Chinese verbal and written communication skills, Excellent interpersonal skills, Keen attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution

Nice to Have

Experience in a Demand and/or Supply Planning role is highly desired, Lean Six Sigma or project management certification preferred, Demonstrated readiness to lead and grow a team as the function scales

What You'll Do.

Manage daily inbound international transportation into China

Negotiate air and ocean freight rate agreements

Evaluate and select air

and trucking carriers

Manage performance for carriers

Monitor inbound transportation performance

Identify and implement inbound transportation optimization initiatives

Provide final approval for Freight Audit & Pay processes

Partner with Trade Compliance

and enforce operational policies for 3PL

Maintain regular on-site presence at Nantong Distribution Center

Act as Brooks' primary escalation point with third-party provider

and report performance against SLAs

Lead structured performance reviews with third-party provider

Govern outbound transportation performance

Manage operational budgets

Partner internally with HQ Transportation team

Translate operational data into actionable insights

or operational improvements

Lead structured continuous-improvement initiatives

Design scalable governance models

and operating processes

Partner with Supply Chain

Present operational performance

Support training and enablement

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Partner with Trade Compliance to ensure transportation plans incorporate customs requirements; Collaborate with external service providers to ensure transportation execution aligns with policies; Partner internally with HQ Transportation team and regional internal partners; Partner with Supply Chain, Trade Compliance, Transportation, Distribution, Finance, IT, Product, Sales, Marketing, and E-commerce teams; Present operational performance, risks, and recommendations to senior managers and directors; Support training and enablement to ensure alignment with Brooks transportation and distribution standards

Communication Scope

Negotiate periodic air and ocean freight rate agreements, balancing cost, capacity, service, and lead-time requirements. Evaluate and select air, ocean, and trucking carriers based on performance history, transit times, cost competitiveness, and alignment with our global transportation strategy and regional strategic initiatives. Manage performance for carriers within your scope—issuing scorecards, conducting reviews, and driving corrective action plans without routine escalation. Serve as Brooks Shanghai's designated operational and commercial relationship authority with inbound transportation partners. Monitor inbound transportation performance and resolve operational exceptions, ensuring accurate milestone visibility and EDI data for downstream stakeholders.
