ABOUT THE TEAM The OpenAI Robotics team is focused on unlocking general-purpose robotics and pushing towards AGI-level intelligence in dynamic, real-world settings. Working across the entire model stack, we integrate cutting-edge hardware and software to explore a broad range of robotic form factors. We strive to seamlessly blend high-level AI capabilities with the constraints of physical systems to improve peoples’ lives. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Robotics 3D Printing Lab Technician, you will own the day-to-day operation of our additive manufacturing lab and help enable rapid hardware iteration across the robotics organization. You’ll manage and maintain a fleet of 3D printers, develop workflows for engineers to submit and track builds, and ensure high-quality prototype parts are delivered quickly and reliably. You will partner closely with mechanical, electrical, and prototype engineering teams to support fast-paced robotics development. Beyond additive manufacturing, you will also contribute as a hands-on prototype technician supporting builds, rework, subsystem integration, and general lab operations across robotic systems. This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and requires in-person presence 5 days a week.
