Operates, adjusts and regulates heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units (HVAC) that include: boilers, chillers, hot water heaters, vacuum pumps, medical air and emergency generator which provide lighting, heating, cooling, air flow and other sources of power for the hospital. **_MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS_ :** **EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:** 1\. High school diploma or equivalent. 2\. Vocation-trade school graduate **OR** five (5) years of maintenance/mechanical experience. **EXPERIENCE:** 1\. Three (3) years of maintenance/mechanical experience. **CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Monitors all mechanical and electrical controls and automatic features on equipment present in boiler room and mechanical rooms. Records readings of pressure gauges, thermometers, air/liquid flow meters and makes adjustments to equipment to maintain proper, efficient and safe operation, specified by hospital and regulatory policies and regulations. 2\. Maintains proper, safe and efficient operations of heating/cooling ventilating and air handling units, thermostats and humidistats to supply adequate air flow and temperature levels throughout the hospital. 3\. Monitors and tests medical gas panels present in boiler room office. Maintain, service and reserve banks of cylinders; change from reserve to "in use" banks when alarms are activated. Replace empty bank of nitrogen or nitrous oxide cylinders. Test for leaks. Change defective seals o
