Full Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Lead/#1 Press Operator for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a **Lead/#1 Press Operator,** you will be responsible for the performance of the production line and crew on our Core Publishing Solutions team. You will be operating state of the art offset and digital web presses. You would also be eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus upon being in the role for 90 days. **_Hours of Work – Eagan, Minnesota_** * 2nd Shift 2:30p - 10:30p * Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts **About the Role** In this opportunity as a Lead/**#1 Press Operator** , you will be responsible for: * Providing leadership, work direction, and training/developing the skills of the crew to consistently optimize overall performance * In addition to ensuring that the line is running smoothly and producing a quality product for our customers, Lead Operators are expected to facilitate Tier 1 meetings and Gemba Walk discussions to drive communication and improvements to the processes associated with the equipment * Training for crew members who are temps or are coming in from another area to support workload * Motivating others and creating a team environment **About You** You’re a fit for the role of Lead/**#1 Press Operator** if your background includes: * Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher. Candidates with a vocational/technical degree are strongly preferred * Experience leading and training others * Experience working in an industrial setting with a wide range of production machinery * Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, make decisions and resolve machine issues * Experience with Lean and continuous improvement * Good communication skills including experience sharing information across shifts and departments * Proven success as a trainer * The ability to run multiple pieces of equipment is required * Previous experience as a Lead on 1-2 Color Web Offset Presses and 4 Color Sheet
